Biography
Dr. Richardson is an epidemiologist who received her Master's Degree in Immuno-Virology from the Institut Armand‐Frappier at the University of Quebec in 1996 and her PhD in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from McGill University in 2003 where she studied the natural history of human papillomavirus infections and cervical neoplasia. She became a Senior Investigator at the Canadian Cancer Trials Group in 2004 and currently oversees the Breast Cancer Prevention portfolio and the Supportive Care Committee. Dr. Richardson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, at Queen’s University where she teaches and is the current Graduate Coordinator. Her research interests include cancer prevention, cancer symptom management and the use of etiological and prognostic biomarkers in population‐based studies.
Role in CAN-PACT
Title; Queen's Co-lead for CAN-PACT and co-chair of the CAN-PACT Clinical Trials Sub-Committee - Epidemiologist and senior investigator for the CCTG Supportive Care Committee, with expertise in phase III clinical trial design, measurement scales and trial conduct. Role includes co-chairing the Trial Committee and liaising with CCTG staff and regulatory processes.
Dr. Richardson's Goals for CAN-PACT
"We urgently need new tools to help support patients struggling with a diagnosis of advanced cancer. Using rigorous methodology and collaborating with patient partners and a network of multidisciplinary experts, my goal is contribute towards the generation of evidence from well conducted clinical trials to inform the Canadian oncology healthcare system about the role and potential implementation of psilocybin assisted therapy for people with cancer."
